The construction of these timber buildings was experimental. The brief was to try to build in timber for the same cost as a steel portal frame, but without compromising the design. The wall and roof frames are pre-manufactured panels to make installation as rapid and easy as possible, and are clad in locally sourced Larch and Chestnut. The structural frame is fabricated from locally sourced Douglas Fir beams fabricated in our workshops and brought to site assembled ready to lift into position. Only partly successful these buildings are nevertheless a great improvement on a steel portal framed building, and create attractive industrial units.
